William (Bill) Harper

Bill Harper, 77, of Amarillo, TX passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 A.M., Friday, June 26, 2020, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Mr. Harper was born in Maud, Oklahoma, on December 12, 1942. He moved to the Texas Panhandle in 1947 and married Joyce Lawrence on December 28, 1968. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and served at the local and state levels helping students with scholarship orations. He was a well-respected teacher and mentor to students at Highland Park ISD in Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Joseph Harper, mother, Mildred Christine Bynum, and his dear wife, Joyce Lawrence.

Survivors include a son, James Harper and wife, Rebecca; a daughter, Malinda Kaye Padgett and husband, Cody; grandchildren, Hayden Padgett, Joshua Harper, Samuel Harper, Jonathan Harper, and William Harper; and a host of other relatives and friends.
