Phyllis (Barclay) Dugan

August 13, 1932 — May 28, 2017

Phyllis Barclay Dugan, 84, of Randall County died Sunday, May 28, 2017, in Dallas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Holley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Kuhlman and the Rev. Justin Cantwell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon.

Phyllis was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Roger Mills County, Okla., to Ralph and Jewell Barclay. Phyllis moved to Randall County in 1945 and married Roger Dugan in 1947. They farmed southeast of Canyon for many years. Phyllis actively participated in the farming operation, assisting in the farm life.

Mr. and Mrs. Dugan moved into Canyon in 1959 and lived there until 2016, when they moved to Dallas.

After they retired from farming, the couple drove buses for Canyon Independent School District and drove for Ryder Truck Rentals, transporting trucks from one place to another.

Mrs. Dugan was also a seamstress, making clothes including innumerable square dance dresses. Her hobbies included square dancing, painting, raising flowers and vegetables, and playing the piano.

She was preceded her in death by her parents; and three brothers, Gene, Ray and Louis Barclay.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Roger Dugan of Dallas; a daughter, Ivey Dugan of Dallas; a son, Alan Dugan of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Kyla Cole of Dallas and Kristie Cantwell of Brownfield; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to VNA Hospice Care, 1600 Viceroy Drive, Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75235.
