Patricia E (Chisholm) Burke

June 23, 1948 — November 12, 2017

Patricia "Patty" Elaine (Chisholm) Burke of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Charleston, South Carolina surrounded by her family. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 18, 2017 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Greg Corona officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Patty was born on June 23, 1948 in Odessa, Texas to Joseph L. and Wileda J. Chisholm. She married John E. Burke, Jr. Patty pursed a career in nursing where she received a B.S. in nursing from Texas Women's University, Denton, Texas, and two Masters Degrees: a Masters of Science in Public Health and a Masters of Science Nurse Practitioner. She worked as an Ad hoc faculty at the University of Texas in Austin; she also worked for the United States Air Force in the Occupational Health Residency Program and lastly at Exxon Corporate Medical until her retirement. She and her husband moved to Amarillo in May 2014. Patty was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Ladies of Harley, and the Fisherman Sunday School at Hillside Christian Church. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, camping, whitewater rafting and tubing down the South Llano River.

Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Wileda Chisholm.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John Burke; her children, Joseph J. Burke and wife Tiffany, Timothy A. Burke and wife Robin, and Susan K. Burke; and her sister, Joan Chisholm DiCarlo.
