Marjorie was born to Eugene and Weita Bowling in Turkey, Texas on December 28, 1935. She married a handsome cowboy named Ernie Collie on January 23, 1953. After Ernie served in the Marine Corps, they had four daughters and together they lived a kind of fairytale life on some of the most famous ranches in Texas. Marjorie’s life revolved around her husband, kids, and grandkids. She gave selflessly to her family. She was a beautiful petite little lady, but she was also a cowboys’ wife who could do anything. She cooked homemade meals three times a day, kept a spotless house, sewed western shirts for her husband, and beautiful dresses for her daughters, and her own clothes. She loved to read and share books with her family and friends. She lost her beloved Ernie in 1991. On May 28, 2020, Marjorie went to be with the Lord and to dance again with her handsome cowboy in heaven.

Marjorie loved God and knew Him through a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She taught her children and grandchildren to trust in the Lord by the way she lived her life in faith. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband and only love, Ernie Collie on March 18, 1991. She also lost a brother, “Bud” Bowling. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Raynon Snider and husband Lewis, daughter Brenda Jones and husband Randall, daughter Rhonda McLaughlin and husband Pete, and daughter Denise Adams and husband Kenny. She has four grandchildren, John Jones, Laura Stottern, Shonda Young, and Russell McLaughlin. She also has four great-grandchildren, Quintin Jones, Hunter Stottern, Paisley Jones, and Wyatt Stottern.

The family suggests donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
