Floyd J. Bingham, 90, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 23, 2017.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Fellowship West Church with Kyle Wilkinson and Hal Rogers, officiating. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Floyd was born on May 4, 1927 in Amarillo, Texas to Lucille and Floyd Jesse Bingham. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1945. He was a veteran in the United States Navy serving in World War II. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1951 from Texas Tech.
Floyd retired from Pioneer Natural Gas after 30 years of service. He was a Gideon and had been a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church for over 75 years.
He married Marian Louise Akers on May 27, 1950 in Amarillo.
He was a man of integrity who put God and family first.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, of the home; two daughters, Debbie Meadors and husband Daniel of Amarillo and Dena Rattan-Pool and husband Jeff of Panhandle; one son, Jay Bingham and wife Laronda of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, Jenni Streich, Lacey Esler, Janae Moore, Dustin O’Dell, Alexandria Oppel, Tera Barton, Zach Rattan, Jensen Pool and Hunter Pool; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and suggests memorials to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 2304, Amarillo, TX 79105 or a favorite charity.
